tiny gives back

There are so many things in life to be thankful for.  Every single day, I am so grateful to be given the chance to raise two amazing children, have fun with my husband and friends, and pursue my dreams through tiny by design.  Seeing children respond to artwork is what inspires me every day.  Unfortunately, some kids have dreams are so much bigger than a painting that hangs on the wall...

Back in 2009, I sat at my kitchen counter and registered a domain name.  In that simple moment, tiny by design was born.  A few days later, I was given an opportunity that helped shape the mission behind tiny by design.  I was asked to create a painting for a silent auction with proceeds going to help a three year old cancer patient.  With my own sweet little girl asleep in her bed, I got started right away on this emotional and amazing opportunity.

This day marked the beginning of a major part of the vision for tiny by design.  I have always had the desire to make children smile through artwork.  Now, with the donation of this one painting, this desire has grown to make sure that I am, in a tiny way, giving back to those in need.

I am happy to have a special program in place to help when I can.

"ambassador frog"

This painting was created for the 1st annual "Shake it for Autism" fundraiser in Saginaw MI.  This painting has special meaning for the fundraiser.  The large frog (ambassador frog) is offering his hand to help pull the smaller frog out of the comfort of his leaf to experience life to his full potential.

The proceeds from the fundraiser will help "Ambassador's for Opportunity", a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children with autism.  The vision of AFO is to train peer mentors to help autistic children learn to thrive in social settings.  For more information, please visit www.ambassadorsforopportunity.org.

"friend or foal"

Equest Center for Therapeutic Riding is an amazing organization with a very important mission:"We improve quality of life through equine-based therapy to physically, mentally & socially/emotionally challenged individuals. Our unique program integrates academic, social and physical skills, using the horse as a catalyst."

On Derby day, Equest Center for Therapeutic Riding is having their annual fundraiser, "Horsing Around at the Derby for Equest Kids". Many of the people who use Equest for their therapy are autistic so I thought it would be fun to include the same tree frog found in the AFO painting.  Proceeds from the raffle of this painting will go to help Equest Kids!  For more information, please visit www.equestcenter.org.

"dragon of hope"

tiny by design was a part of a local fundraiser to help fight Multiple Sclerosis.  This painting was donated to a raffle held at a $hop for a Cure event.  All proceeds from the raffle benefited MS.  The young dragon is sitting against a castle wall holding an orange glowing ball with the word "hope" inscribed in it.  Orange is the awareness color for MS.

"on guard" for Inspire Bowling

In 2012, a charity was founded to help children who lost one or both of their parents.   A 20x20 canvas print of "on guard" made the perfect donation for their first major fundraiser.  Each dragon is holding an inspiring, encouraging word...very much in line with this inspiring charity.  To learn more about Inspire Bowling, please visit www.inspirebowling.com
